ENEFEN subscribes to a number of Safety organizations, including ISNetworld. When scheduling an inspection please advise what your company requires for our inspector to be on site. In addition, ENEFEN requires the following:
1. On-site technician name and phone number
2. Instructions to site if not easily found, recommended access route roads
3. Any special training required? Does on-site training need to be completed, and if so, please advise time commitment.
4. Is it a sweet or sour site?
Our inspection process requires the inspector to use bluetooth during the inspection and the cell phone in their truck. We will ask that Fire Eye sensors be turned off in building for period of 10 minutes for each appliance being inspected. We will arrive in a GPS oil truck with ENEFEN logos. The inspector will be visually inspecting and taking photo's of each component. The inspector will be looking at flame inside stack box and taking stack readings if necessary.
Permit will be required for use of Bluetooth headset; and camera with flash to photograph/record serial number and model number of all components.
At the conclusion of the inspection an email will be sent to the client contact advising of any preliminary inspection findings. Once the inspection has been reviewed by Quality Control (QC), we will provide a report. Issues preventing a Field Approval will also be listed on the customer web site (nfnportal.com) for client and owner to view. When corrections are made to the deficiency the client or owner will need to upload text (and optional photo) of the correction on the customer web site. The changes will be reviewed by our engineering and quality control sections and an approval or continued deficiency status will be noted on the project.
Our Team of Analysts
Our field inspection team, led by Jozef Jachniak, P.Eng., President and Chief Field Inspector, will work with you to achieve regulatory compliance through inspection of gas fired appliances and Field Approval. In addition, training can be provided to on-site technicians to assist them with operating appliances efficiently and safely.
ENEFEN Analysts have experienced an on-site Field Approval (FA) and understand the inspection process and requirements. When our Field Inspector is on-site they make a call to one of our analysts who record the information for the FA Report. This immediate recording of information allows ENEFEN to provide clients with a Field Approval or Field Recommendations within 24 hours in most cases.
Even in the harshest conditions, ENEFEN has the ability to be on -site to provide you with an inspection.
Provincial laws regulate safety through compliance with adopted safety codes. ENEFEN’s Field Inspectors work on-site to ensure your equipment meets safety standards as well as having accurate documentation for the ongoing working condition of the gas-fired equipment. ENEFEN will provide you with a Field Approval (FA) or recommendations to achieve a Field Approval the day of the inspection. Upon completion of the printed FA report, a stainless steel code compliant Rating Plate will be mailed with the report for on-site adherence to the equipment structure.

A Field Approval by an Inspection Body (IB) is NOT a Product Certification.
CB (Certification Body) is needed to certify and label large quantities of product being manufactured for compliance.
