Over the years Enefen has created and customizied designs which comply with CSA B149.1-15, address safety concerns, and improve energy efficiency. Design codes have been developed and are made available to customers when a Design Code Field Approval is purchased.
ENEFEN has Standard Fuel Train Designs for Immersion Fire-Tube Heaters. To see which type of design would work for you, review ENEFEN Standard DC300. The sample designs shown in the document may not be up-to-date with current code in your Province, Municipality and local AHJ. To ensure you have a current design which meets compliance, request a Field Approval before you build.
You may ask "How does design relate to a Field Approval?"and "How is it money can be saved with an ENEFEN design template?"
A first part of the Field Approval process is a review of the P&ID and Bill of Materials (BOM) for component compliance. CSA B149 requires that certified products are being used (within the scope of the IB accreditation) when readily available in the marketplace. This process is called approving the "Design in Principle" and conveys that at the time of the review the design met federal, municipal and local gas and electrical codes and regulations. With more than 35 years of experience, we also provide added peace of mind with recommendations for greater worker and community safety as well as greater efficiency.
If you have a custom design, and plan on using it more than once, you can request to have the design included as an ENEFEN Design Code (This is not the same as a Design Registration.) The one-time fee will provide Field Approval savings over, and over, again. Save time and money with a quick and easy start-up on your project and move immediately to the que for inspection scheduling.
You'll also save money by not having to spend for an independent Professional Engineer to design and stamp the P&ID. It's all part of the service ENEFEN provides. We'll make sure the design matches with your process requirements. And, not only will we make sure that your average process load is taken under consideration, but we also look at special circumstances during:
System Start Up
System Warm Up
Refractory Cure Operation
Issues we review include access, ambient and environmental. Enefen also will review plant specific standards with gas safety code (CSA B149.3) requirements for any existing contradictions. And, because we have experience we know there is also Murphy's Law in form of process upsets, power outages or emergency shutdowns (ESD) which must be resolved even in the middle of the winter, during holidays and at midnight, which effect your system.
Our years of experience and the knowledge of our team makes it possible for us to put all the parameters together in an organized project and give you the results you need for an efficient, expeditious and exceptional process. A Professional Engineer stamps the drawings and is accountable for the results.
Just look for our stamp - it's the "e".
