The Advisory Board serves as an ally of informed individuals providing guidance for ENEFEN's growth. Their knowledge, experience and skills were beneficial in the effort by ENEFEN to become accredited by the Standards Council of Canada on May 15, 2013 as an inspection body for design, field inspections and field approvals.
Carey LaRose, Advisor
Carey LaRose retired in 2009 after 41 years of experience in the plumbing and gas industry, which included over 30 years with Alberta Municipal Affairs, Plumbing and Gas Safety Services. During the last 11 years he served as the Administrator/Chief Inspector for Alberta Municipal Affairs, Safety Services Plumbing and Gas Discipline. In his years of industry and regulatory experience, he provided extensive advisory and consulting services. A few examples include the following:
Participated with the Safety Codes Council's Plumbing and Gas Technical Councils, the Delegated Accredited Organizations, Accredited Agencies, Accredited Municipalities and Corporations in the legislative process to enhance public safety under the Safety Codes Act.
Promoted a greater understanding of the public safety system under the Safety Codes Act, applicable codes and public awareness by providing ongoing technical advice, interpretation and expertise to partners, clients, and other Ministries.
Participated in the ongoing development of codes and standards, maintenance and adoption of Plumbing and Gas Codes and Regulations by working with the Safety Codes Council, certification organizations, utilities, designers, contractors, the public, accredited agencies and other jurisdictions.
Gordon was employed as the Chief Gas inspector for the Province of Saskatchewan by SaskPower from 1997 til 2012. Gordon has 35 year’s experience in the utility field. As Chief Gas Inspector, Gordon was responsible for all gas installations downstream of the meter for natural gas and the total installation for propane, including the tank.
Gordon is past Chair of the Interprovincial Gas Advisory Council (IGAC). The council through its members contributes significantly to the development and maintenance of Installation codes and standards for gas appliance and accessories.
Gordon also served as Vice Chair of the CSA Technical Committee for Gas Appliances and Accessories, as well as held an executive member position of the CSA Strategic Steering Committee for Fuel Burning Equipment. Gordon is past chair of the CSA technical committee on residential depressurization.
In addition, Gordon served as a member at the Canadian Hydrogen Standards Committee (CAC ISOTC 197).
Dr. Erling Nyborg, Ph.D, P.Eng.
Dr. Erling Nyborg, Ph.D, P.Eng., Compliance & Accreditation Advisor
Principal consultant of Nyborg Professional Services. Professional engineer with more than 40 years of engineering experience in a combination of entrepreneurial, private, public and academic activities. Dr. Nyborg has spent numerous years in development of safety codes and standards with a broad background related to risk assessments, reliability and safety investigations. He is past chair of the Task Group Certification of the Standards Council of Canada and past member of its Advisory Committee on Conformity Assessment. He is also a member of two CSA standards committees inthe occupational health and safety sector, one of which he chairs.
Trained as both a bio-systems engineer and a mechanical engineer, with strong background in machine design and experimental stress analysis. A large portion of Dr. Nyborg's work has been in research management; experimental design; functional and durability evaluation of manufactured assemblies; machine and vehicles, non-destructive testing of civil structures; safety assessments of facilities storing and handling compressed and cryogenic liquid gases; and hydrogen production; storage and utilization systems. Engineering degrees from the University of British Columbia, Michigan State University and the University of Saskatchewan.

James Patrick Bremkamp
James P. "Pat" Bremkamp, Information Systems Design and Implementation
Pat brings a unique blend of interests and experience to his role that combines management experience, quality certification experience, information systems management and hands-on programming skills.
After earning an Engineering degree from Dartmouth College and an MBA from Stanford, Pat had a 30 year career as an Operations Consultant for Price Waterhouse, and internal Consultant for Lear Siegler, and as Plant Manager, VP of Manufacturing, and Senior VP for manufacturing companies including Rainbird Sprinkler, Peerless Trailer, Milgard Manufacturing and Toshiba Ceramics America.
During his 14 years at Toshiba, Pat studied Quality Control systems with experts from Japan and led the project to achieve ISO 9001 certification. He also was a member of the American Society for Quality, serving as Chair and Board Member of the Portland, Oregon section.
Bogdana Kotecka and Krzysztof Kotecki, Management Advisors
As a team they bring unique combination of engineering education, production management, marketing and business experience. Combined with financial wisdom, operational flexibility and their unique ability to be successful in even the most adverse economic climate conditions.
In 1990 they founded their current group of companies in Poland from their home and now have 290 employees and annual sales of more than 36 million. Stalgast manufactures and wholesales commercial kitchen equipment and has 400 distributors for 3000 of their products in Poland, Ukraine and other European countries. They work with suppliers in Europe, United States and China and operate their own facilities in Poland. The Stalgast trademark is well recognized in the expanding kitchen equipment market. Despite the recent worldwide economic crisis, Stalgastwas able to continue its growth and thrive.
Bogdana and Krzysztof studied together at the Warsaw Technical University in Poland. they graduated from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering with Masters Degrees in Design of Information Systems for Production Management.
